Research

The launch of the Pt-Global app© marks the 20th anniversary of the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA). Scoring of the PG-SGA© was originated jointly by Faith Ottery, MD, PhD, Suzanne Kasenic, RD, and Susan DeBolt, PhD, RD and validated in a volunteer research network in 1996 involving 2,150 patients from 55 institutions internationally. During the past two decades, the PG-SGA© and its Short Form (PG-SGA SF© or abridged version) has been the basis for more than 150 publications and scientific presentations; multiple masters and doctoral theses and dissertations; book chapters; and educational programs, and has been translated and used broadly worldwide.
You will find a list of publications on the PG-SGA© here.
In addition, if you would like to forward on any of your previously presented scientific posters or abstracts, please do so at info@pt-global.org. We are happy to publish your work on this website.

Dr. Faith Ottery, the Hanze University of Applied Sciences and the Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the University Medical Center Groningen perform scientific research on the PG-SGA© and the Pt-Global app© with the Pt-Global Research Consortium. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: the efficacy and efficiency of the Pt-Global app© on the health care process and the validity of the PG-SGA© and the Pt-Global app© in populations with chronic diseases and (frail) older people.

Are you interested to perform research on the PG-SGA© and/or Pt-Global app© ? Please contact us at info@pt-global.org.

We are currently setting up an international Pt-Global Advisory Board. You will find information about this Advisory Board on this website soon.
