Release of Pt-Global app/web tool© version 2.0

Food Intake3 Disease2

We are happy to inform you that the multilingual Pt-Global app/web tool© has been upgraded to version 2.0 and was released on 6 March 2016. In this version, the content of the Pt-Global app/web tool© has been fully synchronized with the PG-SGA© paper version v3.22.15. Specifically, the following changes have been made:

1) In version 1.1, only two diagnoses could be selected in the screen ‘Professional’; in version 2.0 six diagnoses can be selected, consistent with the paper version.

2) Whereas in version 1.1 ‘Other diagnosis’ was included in the scoring of the two diagnoses, in version 2.0 ‘Other diagnoses’ will not be scored, as in the paper version.

3) Age >65 years was already included in the scoring of the app/web tool, but the place in which this is being scored has been moved from the ‘Patient’ screen to the ‘Professional’ screen.

4)  In the screen ‘Food Intake’, the option ‘Normal food, normal amount’ has been deleted. This will not affect the scoring (was scored as zero points in the app/web tool). The related instructional text in the screen ‘Food Intake’ has been changed accordingly.

5) In version 1.1, significant weight gain in cancer types with risk of significant weight gain (e.g., breast cancer) was shown as a yellow icon in the Results screen (although zero points were given in those cases). This feature has been removed in version 2.0, i.e., weight gain will not be shown as yellow icon. This will not affect the point scoring or Category rating.

6) In the ‘Professional’ screen, the option ‘No acute/chronic active disease’ has been removed. The wording on the diagnoses has been synchronized to those in the paper version as well.

The upgrade will now also facilitate the use of the Pt-Global app© as digital version of the PG-SGA Short Form©, in addition to the full PG-SGA©.

Please note: when only the Patient screens (PG-SGA SF©) are completed, a PG-SGA Category (i.e., A, B, or C) will be visible but should not be used, as the Categories are based on both the patient-generated components, and the physical exam score. In other words, the scoring on the components Weight History, Food Intake, Symptoms and Activities/Function only cannot generate a PG-SGA Category, consistent with the paper version.
