The PG-SGA Training Courses held in May 2016 in Groningen, The Netherlands and Porto, Portugal were a great success. During both courses, healthcare professionals were trained in using the PG-SGA. The training included lectures on the historical basis for the development of the PG-SGA and its rationale and applications. In a practical workshop, the healthcare professionals have been practising with case-base scoring ability for nutritional risk or deficit using the PG-SGA.

In Porto, the effect of the training course on comprehensibility, difficulty, and content validity (relevance) of the PG-SGA as perceived by Healthcare professionals has been investigated. The study indicated that the training course was effective in improving healthcare pofessionals’ knowledge on the PG-SGA. The results of the study will be presented at the ESPEN congress in Copenhagen, September 2016.
